Father Time can be a cruel beast can’t he? This was something that I noticed very quickly after turning 50 as my years as a mother and a woman took their toll. recently I was looking into a promotion on wrinkle reduction Newport Beach clinic was offering and I almost took the plunge before considering first the options that I had in front of me. I didn’t love the idea of surgery or treatments to keep me looking younger and so instead I opted for some more natural methods, all of which have worked out well so far. And so if you are a woman over 50, here are my tips on looking younger.
If you really want to change the appearance of your skin then I would urge you to employ a nightly routine for your face and hands. I like to start about an hour before bed and give my face a good wash with something that has a high PH level, once I am done I use my favorite toner before putting on some hydrating moisturizer. In terms of my hands I really love the stuff by Burt’s Bees and the hand cream which they have is usually the last thing that I put on before bed. Doing this for just a few weeks will show great results.
I cannot stress the importance of drinking enough water in order for you to not only keep your skin healthy but also to give you that little extra spring in your step. When the body is dehydrated, it takes water and fluids from other areas of the body in order to function, the result is a lack of energy and dried out skin, hair and nails. Women should be drinking at least 3 liters of water per day and if you do this ever day for a month, you will see exactly why it is so important.
Everyone always tells us to ‘dress our age’ but this could not be farther from the truth and there is absolutely nothing wrong with wearing clothes that are aimed at someone a little bit younger. The key here however is that you don’t try to dress too young. I usually aim to wear clothes aimed at age groups around 10 years younger than what I am, any younger and I will simply look ridiculous.
Treatments and Surgeries
Just because I preferred not to use any surgery or treatments, that is not to say that they are not successful or that they do not work. Speak with your local beautician about the options that are available to you if you are trying to appear more youthful. The only advice I would give is to ask a great amount of questions about what happens after the treatment and whether you need to do it again or what the consequences could be. There are some great options out there, the trick is picking the right one for you.
